FIRST READING (Just as you punished our adversaries, you glorified us whom you had summoned.)

A reading from the Book of Wisdom (18:6-9)

The night of the passover was known beforehand to our fathers, that, with sure knowledge of the oaths in which they put their faith, they might have courage. Your people awaited the salvation of the just and the destruction of their foes. For when you punished our adversaries, in this you glorified us whom you had summoned. For in secret the holy children of the good were offering sacrifice and putting into effect with one accord the divine institution. —The Word of the Lord.

R. Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM (33:1,12, 18-19, 20-22)

R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own. (Ps 33:12b)

Exult, you just, in the Lord; praise from the upright is fitting. Blessed the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. (R)

See, the eyes of the Lord are upon those who fear him, upon those who hope for his kindness, to deliver them from death and preserve them in spite of famine. (R)

Our soul waits for the Lord, who is our help and our shield. May your kindness, O Lord, be upon us who have put our hope in you. (R)

(Short Form)

SECOND READING (Abraham looked forward to the city whose architect and maker is God.)

A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews (11:1-2, 8-12)

Brothers and sisters: Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen. Because of it the ancients were well attested.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was to go. By faith he sojourned in the promised land as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs of the same promise; for he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and maker is God. By faith he received power to generate, even though he was past the normal age—and Sarah herself was sterile—for he thought that the one who had made the promise was trustworthy. So it was that there came forth from one man, himself as good as dead, descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sands on the seashore. —The Word of the Lord.

R. Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (Mt 24:42a, 44)

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Stay awake and be ready! For you do not know on what day the Son of Man will come. (R)

(Short Form)

GOSPEL (You also must be prepared.)

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (12:35-40)

R: Glory to you Lord

Jesus said to his disciples: “Gird your loins and light your lamps and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour when the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” —The Gospel of the Lord.

R. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

CREDO / THE CREED

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.  I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day, in accordance with the Scriptures.  He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayer of Faithful

R: Lord hear our prayer.

Priest: Lord, we give you thanks and praise for us all from Curia Rosa Mystica to visit this designated sacred site in the Jubilee Year. Grant us the grace to have peace in our hearts and together with Mary, continue our apostolic work with faith and confidence.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R: Amen.

OFFERTORY HYMNAL – Blessed are you, O Lord

  1. Blessed are you, O Lord, God of all creation.  Through your goodness we have this bread to offer.

<Chorus> We come together, united with Jesus.  We sing together, praise you forever.  We come together, united with Jesus.  We sing together, praise you forever.

  1. Blessed are you, O Lord, God of all creation.  Through your goodness we have this wine to offer. <Chorus>
  2. Blessed are you, O Lord, God of all creation.  Through your goodness we have our life to offer. <Chorus>

BLESSED ARE YOU

Priest: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.

R Blessed be God for ever.

Priest: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. R: Blessed be God for ever.

(Please stand)

INVITATION TO PRAYER

Priest: Pray, brethren (brothers and sisters), that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father.

R: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church.

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS

Be pleased, O Lord, to accept the offerings of your Church, for in your mercy you have given them to be offered and by your power you transform them into the mystery of our salvation.  Through Christ our Lord.

R: Amen.

Priest: The Lord be with you.
R: And with your spirit.
Priest: Lift up your hearts.
R : We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
R: It is right and just.

Priest: It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our Lord.  In him the hope of blessed resurrection has dawned, that those saddened by the certainty of dying might be consoled by the promised of immortality to come.  Indeed for your faithful, Lord, life is changed not ended, and, when this earthly dwelling turns to dust, an eternal dwelling is made ready for them in heaven.  And so, with Angels and Archanges, with Thrones and Dominions, and with all the hosts and Powers of heaven, we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we acclaim:

SANCTUS (HOLY, HOLY, HOLY)

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, Heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna, in the highest, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord Hosanna in the highest, Hosana in the highest.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, Heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna, in the highest, Hosanna, in the highest,

Priest: Be pleased, O God, we pray, to bless, acknowledge, and approve this offering in every respect; make it spiritual and acceptable, so that it may become for us the Body and Blood of your most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.  On the day before he was to suffer, and with eyes raised to heaven to you, O God, his almighty Father, giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took this precious chalice in his holy and venerable hands, and once more giving you thanks, he said the blessing and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT, FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

THE MYSTERY OF FAITH

Priest: The mystery of faith.

R: We proclaim your death, O Lord.  And profess your resurrection, until you come, until you come, until you come again.

Priest: To you, therefore, most merciful Father, we make humble prayer and petition through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord: that you accept and bless these gifts, these offerings, these holy and unblemished sacrifices, which we offer you firstly for your holy catholic Church. Be pleased to grant her peace, to guard, unite and govern her throughout the whole world, together with your servant Leo our Pope and Steven our Bishop, and all those who, holding to the truth, hand on the catholic and apostolic faith.  Remember, Lord, your servants N. and N.  and all gathered here, whose faith and devotion are known to you. For them, we offer you this sacrifice of praise or they offer it for themselves and all who are dear to them: for the redemption of their souls, in hope of health and well-being, and paying their homage to you, the eternal God, living and true.  In communion with those whose memory we venerate, especially the glorious ever-Virgin Mary, Mother of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ, † and blessed Joseph, her Spouse, your blessed Apostles and Martyrs, Peter and Paul, Andrew, (James, John, Thomas, James, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Simon and Jude; Linus, Cletus, Clement, Sixtus, Cornelius, Cyprian, Lawrence, Chrysogonus, John and Paul, Cosmas and Damian) and all your Saints; we ask that through their merits and prayers, in all things we may be defended by your protecting help.  Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Priest: Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. Amen.

R: Amen.

THE COMMUNION RITE

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Priest: At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say: R: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Priest: Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

R: For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever.

Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will.  Who live and reign for ever and ever.

R: Amen.

Priest: The peace of the Lord be with you always.

R: And with your spirit.

Priest: Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

ANGUS DEI (LAMB OF GOD)

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace, grant us peace.

(Please kneel)

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

R: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed

COMMUNION ANTIPHON (Ps 147: 12, 14)

O Jerusalem, glorify the Lord, who gives you your fill of finest wheat.

COMMUNION HYMNAL 1 – He

He can turn the tides and calm the angry sea.

He alone decides who writes a symphony.

He lights every star that makes our darkness bright.

He keeps watch all through each long and lonely night.

He still finds the time to hear a child's first prayer.

Saint or sinner calls and always finds Him there.

Though it makes Him sad to see the way we live,

He'll always say, “I forgive”

He can grant a wish or make a dream come true.

He can paint the clouds and turn the gray to blue.

He alone knows where to find the rainbow's end.

He alone can see what lies beyond the bend.

He can touch a tree and turn the leaves to gold.

He knows every lie that you and I have told.

Though it makes Him sad to see the way we live,

He'll always say, “I forgive”.

“I forgive”.

COMMUNION HYMNAL 2 – God is dwelling in my heart

<Chorus>

God is dwelling in my heart [God is dwelling in my heart]

He and I are one [He and I are one]

All the joy He gives to me [He gives to me]

Through Christ his son [Through Christ his son]

And with Jesus in my heart [And with Jesus in my heart]

What have I to fear [What have I to fear]

For He is the son of God [the son of God]

In my heart he is near

  1. Christians who are baptized, have you ever realized?  The great mystery, God dwells in you and me.  <Chorus>
  2. This joy God gave to you, share it then with others too.  Show them that God is Love.  Lift their hearts above.  <Chorus>

COMMUNION HYMNAL 3 – Be still, for the presence of the Lord

  1. Be still for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here.  Come bow before Him now, with reverence and fear.  In Him no sin is found.  We stand on holy ground.  Be still for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here.
  2. Be still for the glory of the Lord, is shining all around.  He burns with holy fire, with splendor He is crowned.  How awesome is the sight, our radiant King of light.  Be still for the glory of the Lord, is shining all around.
  3. Be still for the power of the Lord, is moving in this place.  He comes to cleanse and heal, to minister His grace.  No work too hard for Him, in faith receive from Him.  Be still for the power of the Lord, is moving in this place
